19.09.2016

On September 9, 2016 Patriarch of Moscow and all Rus' Kirill visited Sabetta settlement where he dedicated the wooden Svyato-Troitsky temple that had been built this summer.

Due to permafrost the temple is constructed on piles and its area is about 150 m2, height is 21.5 m, at the same time it can accommodate about 100 prayers.

“I am so happy that Lord honoured me to come here. This time I made my way through Southen Siberia, Sakhalin and Chukotka. I had an opportunity to pray in the most Eastern location of Eurasia, at the very edge of Russia and then travelled along the Northern Sea Route - Pevek, Tiksi and finally got here to Sabetta. And everywhere I meet many people, see their faces and feel by heart how much talking to God means to our contemporaries living in XXI century and facing so many challenges every day.”

Besides that His Grace saw the construction progress of the first train of LNG plant and also visited the construction site of LNG storage tanks volume 160 000 m3.

"You do a great thing for the nation, for the people. I just arrived here by car from the airport and was amazed by the scope of works, high technologies, sophisticated architectural and engineering solutions. Indeed, Sabetta is a unique project in Russia. We believe, we are sure that it will bring great benefit to our economy and secure the prosperity of our Russian North” – stated the Patriarch.
