Works on Stage 2 expansion of oil pipeline “Eastern Siberia- Pacific Ocean” (ESPO-2) started in 2010. To boost crude oil export to Japan and South Korea by 30 MTPA, it is necessary to install more than two thousand kilometers of oil mains in Khabarovsk and Primorsk Krais, Amur Oblast and the Jewish Autonomous Oblast - from the already finished Skovorodino PS to oil loading port Kozmino in Nakhodka region, to construct several pump stations and double the port output.
It was vital to preserve the natural environment and to minimize impact on the environment during the construction - things nigh on impossible unless high-tech methods and the finest equipment are used. Technical complexity of works and strict requirements not only to the results but also to the project implementation process necessitated use of Siberia and Far East production resources and manpower and promoted social and economic development of the region: employment growth (not just in the Fuel & Energy Sector but also in the related industries), professional growth of the staff involved in the project, increased tax payments to the state budgets of all levels.
VELESSTROY participation in the ESPO-2 oil pipeline system construction
VELESSTROY was actively engaged in Stage 2 of ESPO expansion, both finalizing full-scale construction of pump stations (PS) and developing the necessary infrastructure: installation of power-generation facilities including power equipment and fire protection systems, installation of sewer and process pipelines, construction of tanks, general site improvement works.
As Company employees work on a rotation basis, to ensure that they are cared for and healthy, “Velesstroy” LLC creates the most comfortable environment for the workers. Small settlements with accommodation camps, canteens, medical stations, laundry and sport facilities are constructed each construction site.
